Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan was acquitted by a local court in the hate speech case on Tuesday.

After the hearing, MP/MLA Magistrate Court judge Shobhit Bansal acquitted the SP leader due to lack of evidence.

Khan was accused of making comments critical of the Election Commission and inciting voters at an election rally on April 23, 2019. On April 24 that year, the then SDM filed a case at the Civil Lines police station in this regard.
